FTSE STI closed 3,145.67, down 14.93 points or -0.47% with a total volume of 1.13b and a total value of S$1.06b.  Total number of advance vs decline was 247 vs 200.  Of the 30 component index stocks, 10 closed positive, 13 closed negative and 7 remained unchanged.  The top 5 gainer component stocks were :-

US markets closed mixed yesterday night with mixture of economic data and also investors concerned about employment situation.  Asian bourses were mostly in then negative with Nikkei closed -0.66%, SSE +0.84% and HSI -1.31%.  STI closed down 0.47% with only 10 of the 30 component stocks closed positive as investors cautious of tonight US employment data.  Some slight relief is IMF and EU have completed their review on Greece's debt situation and ready to dish out another bailout.  That news brought some relief to European bourses as they managed to open in positive region.
