US markets were marginally up yesterday night with financial sector attracted all the buying. Asia bourses mostly traded flat for the day while China reported its economic data of inflation higher than expected. There was cautious of more tightening measures in China to curb the inflation. Nikkei closed +0.96%, SSE +0.08% and HSI +0.09%. STI in line with other regional bourses were flat at +0.41% with 20 out of 30 component index stocks closed in the positive. After closed, STI component review stated CapMallAsia with replace Cosco as index stock with effect from 22nd March 2010. Investors are looking for more economic data from US tonight and tomorrow night.
