US markets gained yesterday night after consumer spending rose in Jan and the AIG deal to sell its Asian unit. Asia bourses took the cue opened in positive region but soon profit taking caused either the bourses to close flat or in the red. Nikkei closed +0.49%, SSE -0.48% and HSI -0.72%. STI still unable to break the 2,800 resistance level closed marginally in the negative of -0.07% with blue chips closing mix for the day. Investors are still looking at US economic data after earning seasons come to an end. The Greece's debt issue will be another focus point for investors.
