US markets closed mixed yesterday with a fall in new home sales data and US Fed maintained low interest rate but cautious of recovery due to the European debt issue. Asian bourses were mostly on profit taking with Nikkei closed +0.05%, HSI -0.12% and HSI -0.59%. STI was mostly flattish throughout the day until afternoon when DJ future turned reddish and European markets opened down and the selling pressure piled in. Investors chose to take profit for and remained cautious while waiting for US jobless claim data tonight.
