US markets recovered from an at least -1.5% opening to close at least +0.5% after series of events. Corporate earnings was hurt by Goldman Sachs dropped in revenue and a drop in housing start data which caused US markets to open in the negative region. However, markets were able to reverse the loss with bargain hunting and anticipating of good result from Apple. After market closed, Apple reported a better set of earnings. Asian markets were mixed for the day with Nikkei closed -0.23%, SSE +0.26% and HSI +1.10%. STI was unable to follow the lead of SSE and HSI and closed -0.76% with only 5 out of the 30 component index stocks managed to close in the black. Bank stocks were leading the drop despite an at least 1% opening from European markets.
