FTSE STI closed 3,171.65, up 1.32 points or +0.04% with a total volume of 1.56b and a total value of S$1.67b.  Total number of advance vs decline was 251 vs 206.  Of the 30 component index stocks, 10 closed positive, 15 closed negative and 5 remained unchanged.  The top 5 gainer component stocks were :-

US markets closed positive yesterday night but on a thin volume help by tech sector.  Asian bourses were mixed for the day with Nikkei closed +0.07%, SSE +0.22% and HSI -0.01%.  STI opened negative, swinging between positive and negative region but managed to close +1.32 points, the 7th successive gain in a row as investors were uncertain of buying or selling.  Concern of market might pull back anytime coupling with ECB might do a rate hike tonight weighed on investors.  The flattish signal from US future and European opening did not help the sentiment either.
