FTSE STI closed 3,129.69, down 23.75 points or -0.75% with a total volume of 1.09b and a total value of S$1.01b.  Total number of advance vs decline was 154 vs 308.  Of the 30 component index stocks, 7 closed positive, 21 closed negative and 2 remained unchanged.  The top 5 gainer component index stocks were :-

US markets closed for holiday yesterday while European markets closed mixed.  Asian bourses were also mixed with Nikkei closed +0.07%, SSE +0.13% and HSI -0.10%.  STI in line with regional bourses were under profit taking after past few sessions of up.  STI closed -0.75% with only 7 of the index stocks managed to register a positive closing.  STI failing to break the resistance at 3,165, is currently having support at 3,120 and 3,080.  Investors would be on cautious mode given the lack of catalysts to move up.  Eyes will be on this Friday US employment data and next week the commence of corporates earnings.
