Yanlord was halt in the afternoon after dropping 17.46% due to a report in a Chinese government-owned newspaper that a former Shanghai government official is standing trial in an alleged bribery case involving a Yanlord property.
STI in line with other Asia bourses which ended mostly flat for the day as investors are waiting for the outcome of the US Government US$700b rescue package. The bearish market sentiment was balance off of news that Warren Buffett buying up to US$5b worth of Goldman Sachs stake. Furthermore, there was news that US FBI came in to investigate Lehman Brothers, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and AIG for any possible frauds in the recent financial crisis.
