Despite news that the US Congress has agreed on the US$700b rescue package, investors still cautious and doubt that the rescue package could quickly resolve the bad debt crisis. To add to the bearish sentiment, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg on Sunday pledged more than euro 11 billion to Dutch-Belgian bank and insurance gaint Fortis NV to keep it from insolvency. Asia bourses except Shanghai ( closed for the week ) all ended in the negative region.
