US markets firmed up yesterday night when the Senator failed to vote to blocked Obama's plan to used the remaining of the US$700b rescue fund. Asia bourses welcome the news with most of them closed in the positive region. Nikkei +2.58%, HSI +0.1% and SSE +1.78%. STI mainly pulled up by bank and property stocks. As there is no market for the US next Monday and Tuesday, US market might rally up tonight as a welcome for Obama officially becomes president on 20th Jan. STI did not go down below 1,680 at the moment and looks a good sign for a potential rebound next week.
