US markets were flat yesterday night when investors chose to remain cautious on Obama's plan to assist home mortage, worse housing market economic data and US automaker's plan to prevent bankruptacy. Asia bourses also traded in very flattish trend with Nikkei closed +0.31%, HSI +0.06% and SSE +0.77%. STI closed -1.31% with Capitaland going XR dragging down the index. UOB and SingTel closing down also weight down the index. Market lacked buying interest as volume was thin and investors probably chose to take profit, stay sideline and closely monitor for further development on the US side.
