US markets continued the slide last Friday but closed off intra-day low when Obama's administration came out to rebuted the rumor of nationalization of the US banks. Asia bourses mostly opened weak this morning but soon gained momentum in the later part of the day as investors came back for bargin hunting. Nikkei closed -0.54%, HSI +3.75% and SSE +1.96%. STI reclaimed the 1,600 support level with Bank, Property, Comodity, Offshore Marine, SIA and SingTel leading the rebound.
