US markets closed mixed yesterday night with US tech stocks outperforming the rest when investors in US are hoping that US technology companies are able to wither the bad economy and withhold the ailing US economy. Asia bourses were mixed also in a thinly traded day. Nikkei closed -0.62%, HSI -0.66% and SSE closed +2.44%. STI was flat at +0.39% with banks, commodity and property stocks trading in the positive offsetting the drop in offshore/marine stocks.
