US stocks were mixed yesterday night when investors sold off financial and tech stocks but buy into defensive stocks like consumer products. Asia bourses were having a directionless and mixed days with indices swinging from positive to negative and back to positive. Nikkei closed +0.45%, SSE +1.74% and HSI -0.55%. STI opened down but bargain hunters came in to snap up the blue chips to bring the index closed +0.33%.
