US markets rallied yesterday night due to a better than expected housing data and investors were relatively positive on the health of the banks in anticipation of the stress test result. Asia markets took the cue and opened firm up but subject to profit taking, all closed above intra-day high level. HSI closed +0.30% and SSE +0.29%. STI is the only Asia bourse who registered another strong rally up closing +2.25% with total volume of more than 3b transacted; first time this year to hit over the 3b mark. Bank, offshore/marine and commodity stocks were being bought up.
