US markets fell yesterday night after a weaker than expected data for the services industry and factory orders in the US. Asia bourse reacted to the drop with a negative open. Nikkei closed -0.75%, SSE -0.41% and HSI -0.40%. Most closed off their low as bargain hunters cautiously came in to snap up the battle down blue chips. STI also rebound from its intra-day low of 2,344 and closed 0.88% down in a thin volume trading day. Bank, property, offshore/marine and commodity stocks were under selling pressure while defensive stocks were holding up well.
