US markets were marginally positive yesterday night following mixture of economic data and corporate earnings. Asia bourses were trading in a narrow range for the day on thin volume as investors are cautious taking up new positions over the weekend while awaiting for more corporate earnings from US. Nikkei closed -0.04%, SSE -0.29% and HSI -0.46%. STI closed +0.02% in a thin volume day with investors buying up banks and defensive stocks that helped cushion the drop in property, commodity and offshore/marine stocks.
