US markets retreated yesterday night despite some positive news from the housing data. Asia bourses were relatively flat for the day with Nikkei closed +0.51%, SSE +1.69% and HSI +0.49%. STI dipped below 2,600 level but managed to regain that level and closed +1.23% when DJ Future and European markets were in the positive region. Bank stocks led the rally.
