US markets continued the up after confirm news of reappointment of Ben Bernanke as the US Fed Chairman. Asia bourses welcome the news started the day in the positive region. Even a dip into the negative region for both SSE and HSI also managed to close in the positive region. Nikkei closed +1.36%, SSE +1.78% and HSI +0.10%. STI maintained above the 2,600 level for the days even when the index dip into the negative region. Volume was very active with most activity focused on the penny stocks. Index stocks were relatively mixed in their performance that ended STI closed only +0.37%. Investors are awaiting for more economic data like 2Q GDP from US side to affirm the current rally does have the strength to go further.
