US markets closed mixed yesterday night with Nasdaq and S&P500 posted a gain while DJ ended in the red. After market closed, Alcoa reported a profit for their quarter earning when analysts expected still a loss. That news lifted the sentiment of the Asia bourses as most traded in the positive region. Nikkei closed +0.34% and HSI +1.18%. STI despite SingTel continue to drop in price due to worry of revenue hurt in the India operation managed to close +0.62% with commodity, offshore/marine and property stocks leading the buy up. Investors will be looking at how US markets digest the Aloca's earning tonight and also awaiting SSE reopened for trading tomorrow after 1 week break.
