US markets continued to advance yesterday night to close at least 1% when investors moved away from the Dubai debt issue and concentrated on a better than expected pending home sales data. Asia bourses took the cue and managed to close in the positive for the day. Nikkei closed +0.38%, SSE +1.06% and HSI +0.80%. STI closed +0.92% but failed to hit the 2,800 level. Bank stocks continued to attract strong buying interest and SingTel also pushed up to its 200d EMA level. As investors probably aiming for a year end rally, there is also concern about what catalyst required to push the market higher.
