US markets closed flat yesterday night as investors could not find enough good news to buy up the stock prices. Asia bourses were mixed given the flattish performance of US markets. Nikkei closed -0.86%, SSE +1.58% and HSI -0.01%. STI recovered early loss to close another new year 2009 at 2,879.76 points as funds window dressing for the year end.
