US markets were closed for holiday yesterday but with European markets closed in the positive, buying sentiment was back in Asia bourses today. Nikkei closed -0.83% with JAL filing for bankruptcy, SSE +0.30% and HSI +1.02% with a late afternoon reversal. STI closed flat up 0.90 points with the component stocks performing mix. SGX is the biggest loser among the component stocks despite recorded a better first half earning. Investors are also cautious ahead of US banks result this weak after last week JPMorgan reported a loan loss which ate into its revenue.
