US markets drop at least 1% last Thursday with a last minute selling down. Asia bourses were mixed with that performance with Nikkei closed +1.03% ( a new 15-month high ), SSE -1.02% and HSI -0.23%. STI were trading in the negative region throughout the day but in a very narrow band with high volume. It was pretty much a sector play at the moment with Offshore/Marine, Oil/Gas moving up while Bank and Property stocks were weighing down. Investors are looking at US market for the first week of the year to determine direction of the market. Market is also consolidating towards the earning season which will be starting mid Jan.
