Market Summary -- 29th Nov 10

FTSE STI closed 3,158.21, up 0.13 points or +0% with a total volume of 1.15b and a total value of S$1.08b.  Total number of advance vs decline was 200 vs 251.  Of the 30 component index stocks, 12 closed positive, 12 closed negative and 6 remained unchanged.  The top 5 gainer component stocks were :-

3. NOL  +0.050
4. DBS  +0.040
5. Genting  +0.03

The top 5 loser component stocks were :-

US markets closed negative last Friday with jittery over the Eurozone debt and the Koreas tension.  Over the weekend, EU and IMF have finally worked out the bailout detail for Ireland and also stressed that at the moment Portugal and Spain do not required bailout.  Asian bourses were mostly positive for the day with Nikkei closed +0.86, SSE -0.19% and HSI +1.26%.  STI was range bound with thin volume as investors stay cautious and just managed to close slight positive.  Blue chips were mixed with 12 of the component stocks closed positive and 12 in the red.
