US markets closed negative yesterday night but off low with issue of the eurozone debt. Asian bourses were initially mixed in the early part of the day until SSE suddenly sold down 3% with concern of possible rate hike. That caused regional bourses to pare gain. Nikkei closed -1.87%, SSE -1.61% and HSI -0.68%. STI off to a positive start but sentiment from SSE caused STI to pare gain and closed -0.43% with only 8 of the component stocks managed to close positive. Investors are now staying cautious with the eurozone debt and Koreans issue in mind. Despite STI closed down, it still above the recent low of 3,118 and tentatively is a good sign as market did not break down.
