US markets closed mixed yesterday night giving up earlier gain when investors were cheered with the extension of the tax cut deal. However, investors were concerned of rising bond yields and regulators stepping up on insider-trading probe and sold down stocks. Asian bourses were also mixed with most of them closed negative. Nikkei closed +0.90%, SSE -0.95% and HSI -1.43%. STI managed to buck the trend and close above 3,200 at 3,202.80 up 0.34% with commodity stocks leading the gain. 17 out of the 30 component stocks managed to close positive. Market is range bound with little catalyst to move up, ranging within the uptrend channel at the moment.
