FTSE STI closed 3,241.49, up 12.22 points or +0.38% with a total volume of 2.04b and a total value of S$1.64b.  Total number of advance vs decline was 292 vs 217.  Of the 30 component index stocks, 17 closed positive, 11 closed negative and 2 remained unchanged.  The top 5 gainer component stocks were :-

US markets closed mixed yesterday night as concern of Portugal being forced to take bailout weighed on investors ahead of corporate earnings.  After market closed, Aloca reported a set of result beating market expectation.  Asian bourses were mixed but mostly positive rebound from yesterday sell down.  Nikkei closed -0.29%, SSE +0.44% and HSI +0.99%.  STI with immediate support around the 3,200 - 3,220 region rebound from an intra-day low of 3,223 and closed +12.22 points in line with regional bourses.  Bargain hunters came in after yesterday sold down.  Positive opening and DJ future also gave the sentiment a lift.
