US markets closed down at least 1% yesterday night despite better than expected jobless claims and ISM data as concern of the coming employment data tonight weighed on investors.  Asian bourses were in the red for the day as investors taking profit and stay cautious ahead of tonight employment data.  Nikkei closed -1.21%, SSE -1.09% and HSI -1.81%.  STI in line with regional bourses closed in the red but fare better with only 0.84% drop in a very thin volume day.  Only 7 of the 30 index stocks managed to register positive closing.  Most defensive stocks were holding up well.  STI immediate support is around the 2,800 - 2,820 region while the resistance at 2,900 - 2,920 has proven yesterday that it will be difficult to overcome unless the global concerns on US and EU resolved.  Much is expected of a not so good employment data tonight but investors might take the bad news as a sign of hope for more stimulus program being introduced soonest by the US Fed and Government.
