US markets closed positive yesterday night as investors were hoping for some resolution in this Sunday EU Summit on the EU debt crisis.  Asian bourses though were mixed for the day ahead of the Summit as investors remained cautious.  Nikkei closed -0.04%, SSE -0.60% and HSI +0.24%.  STI moved back above 2,700 and closed +0.68% at 2,712.41 in a very thin volume day with total volume for the day came in less than 1 billion.  21 of the 30 index stocks registered positive closing led by banking and offshore/marine stocks.  KepCorp yesterday reported a better than expected earning and that helped most of the offshore/marine stocks to rebound from past days of selling.  Investors should expect some measures or details from EU Summit regarding action to be taken to resolve the EU debt issue but do not expect one-fix-all solution.
