US markets were flat yesterday night as it was torn between EU debt crisis worries against better economic data.  Asian bourses were mostly in the red for the day with profit taking kicking in and investors maintained cautious with EU debt crisis still in investors' mind.  Nikkei closed -0.83%, SSE -0.97% and HSI +0.46%.  STI struggling to maintain in the positive with a flattish closing of +0.07% in another thin value and volume day.  Only 10 of the 30 index stocks managed to register positive closing.  STI very obvious was in positive due to the Jardine group of shares that pop up the index.  Rest of the index stocks were showing sign of weakness.

Yesterday Germany's bond auction was better than last November ( when it was under-subscribed then ) but with news of Italian bank having to do right issue at deep discount to raise cash, Spanish delay in playing bond interest and Greece possible of euro exit should IMF/EU unable to handle out the next tranche of bailout reminding investors that EU debt crisis is still there.  There will be French bond auction tonight and US ADP data followed by employment situation tomorrow.  With global markets inched up in particular US ( due to better than expected economic data which probably the effect of US Fed operation twist showing the impact ) in thin volume, question of whether the upside can sustain have to keep in mind.  Cautious should be the keyword now as the market trends higher.
