US markets closed mixed and flat on a day of not much events happening. Asian bourses closed negative with Nikkei -0.93%, SSE -0.66% and HSI -0.34%. STI fell 0.45% in thin volume and value. Only 8 of the 30 index stocks managed to close positive.
EU leaders are meeting today and tomorrow to finalize the EU budget which they failed to do so last November. Asian bourses mostly are preparing for the CNY holiday causing investors no incentive to buy but taking profit for the holiday.
The weakness in STI mostly caused by profit taking as activities tone down ahead for CNY.
