US markets closed at least +1% yesterday night due to corporate earning play and better than expected new home sales data. Asian bourses were positive for the day with Nikkei +2.32%, SSE +1.55% and HSI +1.73%. STI rose 1.17% in another thin volume and value day. 21 of the 30 index stocks posted gain.
Nothing much of economic data for the day as investors were mainly focus on corporate earning with good set of earning lifted the market up and weak set of result will trigger profit taking on the market. Again investors in STI were divided in tracking regional markets sentiment and trying to be cautious at the same time. We could in this trend of the market until earning season is over next month. The blue chips pushed up STI but broader market still pretty much muted.
