US markets closed at least -0.2% yesterday and Asian bourses were mixed for the day with Nikkei +0.71%, SSE -0.56% and HSI -0.58%.  STI managed to rebound from yesterday fall closing +0.31% but came with thin daily volume and value with 16 of the 30 index stocks posted gain.

US markets opened lower but managed to recover some ground after the bond market recovered from intra-day sell off.  Asian markets initially trying to rebound from yesterday sell off but after a series of China data (industrial output and retail sales) all came in below expectation that weighed down some of regional markets.  Another concern is the Greece issue as investors are awaiting how it going to unfold given that Greece could be running out of cash if the next bailout fund is not granted.

STI with the help of some bargain hunting from the blue chips managed to rebound portion of yesterday drop but the broader market sentiment still weak as traders, punters and short-term investors are taking the opportunity of any rebound to sell.
