FTSE STI closed 2,745.35, down 12.33 points or -0.45% with a total volume of 1.76b and a total value of S$1.95b. Total number of advance vs decline was 160 vs 345. Of the 30 component index stocks, 8 closed positive, 20 closed negative and 2 remained unchanged. The top 5 gainer component stocks were :-

US markets fell almost 2% yesterday night when concern of European banks due to Greece's debt issue and tech companies disappointing earnings surfaced and caused investors to sell off. Current Fed Chief also re-appoint for the 2nd term. Asia bourses took the cue and mostly traded in the negative region for the day. Nikkei closed -2.08%, SSE -0.16% and HSI -1.15%. STI closed -0.45% with investors selling off the blue chips that rebounded yesterday as a precautious as global markets in general still weak.
